Thank you, Rick Barry, for confirming what Kentuckians have long suspected over the past fifty years. Your candor means a lot all these years later, and your credibility on this issue is unmatched.
Asked Rick about this today! His reply: “I had no idea that that was something that was going on re a game. I found out years later. I think any NBA team was afraid to do that because there would’ve been so much expected of them to win the game and they might’ve lost.” 😳🙌 @

Thank you, Brett, and the entire Soul Power team for honoring the ABA and capturing its unique, sublime spirit. The story of my mother and her groundbreaking all-female board of directors is beautifully told, and the segment featuring my mother and me means more than I can ever
My favorite part of Soul Power may be the stories of Ellie Brown and the scenes with her son, John Y. Brown III. Fantastic seeing journalists highlight Ellie too! Btw she DID get to see the Series before she passed 🙏 https://t.co/xSbHheQ43p

This new docuseries about the history and impact of the ABA has been four years in the making (50 year in the waiting) and is less than a month from its premiere! Huge gratitude to Coach Karl and his team. Can’t wait!!
I’ve been around hoops a long time. The ABA wasn’t just a League. It was freedom, creativity, brotherhood, and soul. Soul Power talks truth about the guys who changed the sport before the sport was ready to give them credit. I’m Proud to help finally give the ABA Guys their due.

Several former ABA people who appear in the upcoming Amazon Prime docuseries passed away since the production of the Series wrapped. The upcoming telling of the League will be, in large part, in their Honor. Pictured here: Henry Logan, Nancy Leonard, Ellie Brown 🙏❤️😞

And, of course, other banners currently hanging at the YUM Center recognize championships and tournament achievements also not played at YUM but at Freedom Hall. It’s time to correct this oversight and recognize and celebrate our city’s professional basketball championship.
