🚧 Barriers Are There for Your Safety 🚧 Last night, a driver moved road-closure barriers and signs in an attempt to pass through a closed section of SR-1 at Regent’s Slide. The vehicle entered the mudslide area and became disabled. Please obey road signs and closures.

Hwy. 1 on Big Sur coast remains closed near Regent’s Slide from 2 miles north of Lucia, to 1 mile south of the Esalen Institute. The slope above the roadway at Regent’s Slide remains stable. Crews are awaiting breaks in the rain to clear debris from the overtopped catchment area.
