For sure this is true. One alternative: create a Growth Culture for everyone in which the work exists as much for the people (to grow and flourish) as the people do for the work. Organizations and their people can contribute so much more to each in a GC.
To reshape the practice of management into something new, we may have to say goodbye to its instrumental character.
