In case it needs to be said, the DOE report is not simply another point of view or a highlight of subtle points overlooked by others. It’s not even a dismissal of an “existential crisis” (whatever that means) for the U.S., and I suspect the vast number of “mainstream” scientists.
Okay. Overall, the U.S. Department of Energy's Climate Working Group report does not stand sharply at odds with the findings of IPCC AR6 WG1. Both reports fundamentally agree that:. 1⃣ The Earth has gotten warmer over the last century and a half by ~1.2°C or so. 2⃣ The carbon.

We are shocked that the working-backwards-to-arrive-at-preconceived-conclusions “red team” will not find much substantive to engage with. This was not predictable at all.
Very good post from @curryja on responses to the DOE CWG report.

This graph is maybe the most frequently shared one by Chris, but it’s a different metric than in WaPo, and also almost certainly wrong. I am not sure how it was made, as daily data requires a lot of bias adjustments for known issues. USHCN data would need these things removed, as.
Climate change isn't a hoax. But it isn't a crisis either, Senator. Although average temperatures have gone up in the United States (mostly due to rising overnight lows, largely a byproduct of urbanization), high temperature extremes, which is the focus of the Washington Post

Destroying any flag should be well within the bounds of free speech. The only people who want to criminalize this stuff are authoritarian nutjobs and fake patriots.
Yes, make it a crime to burn the American flag. Desecration of the gay pride flag is already prosecuted as a hate crime in this country. No more double standards. If the sacred symbol of the LGBT cult is protected, American flags should be too. Simple as that.

Yes, climate change is very detectable in fire risk.
Yesterday, Governor @GavinNewsom blamed climate change for the increased fire risk in California in recent decades. But, the facts don’t quite square with his claims, which is a gross oversimplification of what’s really going on.
