More seriously: I suspect the reason Split Up is so chronically underplayed is that it’s not appreciated enough what “The point control turns the corner” really is. It’s when you can answer threats *and* pull ahead on resources. Doing that for 1 less mana is deceptively huge.

I am now convinced that Split Up is the most consistently underrated card ever printed.

Unsurprisingly UW is still busted in standard. Didn't realize the qualifier format was best of 1 when I registered, but don't think I'd bother changing anything anyway.

I still wouldn't exactly call the manabase *good*, but. Cursed Recording wUR still felt better than regular Jeskai by the end of the stream, and there's potentially some real potential here for post rotation when the manabase improves (And UW's gets worse)

Gonna try to turn Jeskai Control into a functional standard deck by gutting it and replacing all of the white cards with red ones that let it pretend to have a functional manabase. Cursed Recording may be involved.

Seriously though, I keep trying to brew a demonic pact deck that functions enough to stream and the takeaway I keep coming to is instead “Y’know cursed recording seems strong enough to actually play for real maybe”.

Okay I think I have a plan to fix Jeskai control tonight, or at least make it worse in an interesting way to stream. We cut all the double white cards and replace them with red cards; thereby fixing the heinous manabase- simple.

Pretty cute that The Seriema plays double duty by grabbing either Kona or whatever absurd giant payoff you want. And then stations in the second mainphase to protect your giant tapped legendary from sweepers.
