It’s on tonight 7pm here:
bbc.co.uk
Polly Neate, CEO of the housing and homelessness charity Shelter.
Slightly nervous to mention that #Radio4Profile of me is on this week. Saturday 7pm @BBCRadio4 - but also really chuffed to be the subject of a show I love listening to

@CormacRussell Omg so right- the obsessive link between 'health' and professionalised 'Services'. We've gone way too far to commodify 'health activities' rather than thinking more simply of community & living a good life... Best wishes to you

An incredibly eloquent letter that I’m sure will have impact across the UK health service and beyond. Proud to know Hilary and very grateful to all these women for speaking out.

Yes, I agree. I have found that Human Learning Systems @SystemsHuman is a very useful paradigm to explore
Very often in healthcare, we make a massive effort to improve our delivery performance by changing our processes and practices. We should probably start much higher up in our knowledge structure by considering our paradigm - our beliefs about how to make change happen. If we do

The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know. The less you know, the more you think you know everything. Knowledge is humbling. Ignorance is arrogant.

An institutional radical asks ‘what is the community alternative to my service and how can I resource it?’ They precipitate action that’s led BY communities. Most reformers lack the courage this requires, they ask: ‘what can we do WITH communities to coproduce better services.

Another great blog. Bryony’s blogs are one of my favourite reads…. I dislike the word transformation, I much prefer the idea of incremental improvement, largely driven by the people doing the work with people they are helping, with managers/senior leaders getting out of the way.

Great blog “let’s drop the term prevention completely, and focus instead on what it is that we want to promote …A sense of belonging. Friendships and relationships. Love. Liberty. Identity. Meaning and purpose. Equal rights and equality of opportunity….”

So sorry to hear this. I breastfed both my kids in all sorts of places including on the tube and in board meetings, where my lovely male colleagues were very supportive. Keep feeding everywhere!

But what if part of the present is for him and the kids promising that it’s for them to use to cook for her and they will be using it for the next 5 years?
I just crashed a teams meeting to advise someone I've never met to absolutely NOT give his wife an air fryer for Mother's Day. I think I've performed a vital public service. Was I right?

Psychological Safety (PS) The belief that you can take risks without punishment. Low PS limits teams. People are full of fear; they hide mistakes, stifle concerns and hold back. High PS lets teams grow. People fearlessly flag errors, challenge one another and propose big ideas.
