Poverty is the main driver of the mental health crisis that has seen youth suicides jump by 60% in the past decade. Not social media. Not hustle culture. Not even a lack of mental health providers. This is a cruel choice by DC politicians, not an unfortunate inevitability.
holy moly, child poverty rate rose from all-time low of 5.2% in 2021 to 12.4% (!!!) in 2022, reflecting end of temporary child allowance and other programs.

'We're going to understand each other,’ says one Spanish-speaking patient who avoided medical care for 20 years. On The CHCF Blog, read about doctors from Mexico who are treating farmworkers in rural California.
