Poverty is the main driver of the mental health crisis that has seen youth suicides jump by 60% in the past decade. Not social media. Not hustle culture. Not even a lack of mental health providers. This is a cruel choice by DC politicians, not an unfortunate inevitability.

holy moly, child poverty rate rose from all-time low of 5.2% in 2021 to 12.4% (!!!) in 2022, reflecting end of temporary child allowance and other programs.
