@PoppyPancho Exactly. And now they can turn around and say: "Given the new asymmetric warfare, we need an ENORMOUS new effort to develop new technologies. We can solve this problem in many years and 100s of billions of dollars." They will turn it into a sales pitch.

Why would defense contractors ever develop cheap interceptors and the like, when the government gives them unlimited money anyway? It's smarter to just keep selling the expensive stuff… so they did. It's a systematic issue which drains the American taxpayers.

It is truly fascinating that people still take statements from government officials seriously during wartime, even after overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
