My teen son loves Shaboozey. He happens to be in Paris tonight while we’re here so we brought him. The “opening act” is this DJ dude playing random songs from 50+ years ago while the crowd stares silently at him, mesmerized. Never seen anything like it.

I've seen it all now. A souvenir stand on the Roberto Clemente bridge, in the shadows of Acrisure Stadium, selling the jersey of the Browns backup QB. Cats and dogs breaking bread together.

I bought a blow torch in the spring to kill weeds. It works great, except I keep catching the trees and bushes on fire in the landscape. Somehow this feels like an apt description of the Browns’ QB room/search.

The Guardians waited 164 games for this lineup. It arrived just in time

They've been two of Cleveland’s best prospects for several years, but injuries prevented them from debuting. Now, the gang's all here.

We’ve seen enough. It’s time.

Gabriel may be a rookie, but he has seen plenty of football. Instead of having him mop up crime scenes, the team needs to give him a chance.

For the Guardians to do the impossible, it took a village. It took contributions from the usual suspects and from the most unlikely heroes. Behind the scenes of a crazy clinch day for a team that’s savoring this moment:

Jakob Junis has waited for this. And he wants his teammates — many of them younger — to savor this moment.

So this is cool: Here's an article on @TheAthletic today... by Steven Kwan. How the two-time All-Star deals with nerves and stress on the baseball field and how he has navigated his way through a wild season https://t.co/frIrFQIvpM

Steven Kwan is a two-time All-Star, a three-time Gold Glove winner and the leadoff hitter for the Cleveland Guardians.

Well, there was the 10-game losing streak. And the gambling investigation. And the trade deadline. And another skid. The Guardians kept it together, through dark days, difficult conversations, tears and sleepless nights. Inside their turnaround: https://t.co/365y6JNYik

Their season was "over" at least twice, but the Guardians have found a way — thanks to their starters — to get back in the postseason hunt.

This is a season of beginnings and endings in Cleveland. Veterans trying to hold on for a few more weeks and rookies trying to emerge as the future. On Sunday, one kick brought all of them together.

For Andre Szmyt, Joe Flacco, Joel Bitonio and many others, surprise win over the Packers brings happiness, relief and reason for optimism.

So far we've seen a draw on 3rd and 7 and the ol' flea flicker into a check down to the tight end. Jesus take the wheel.

This is getting kinda interesting. Guardians devil magic, 5 a.m. viewings of "The Longest Yard" and enough playoff scenarios to make your head spin: https://t.co/zDaSIwofgV

The Guardians’ formula for winning keeps producing, and their schedule could make their last 12 games awfully compelling.

Joe Flacco can’t move. Neither can the Browns offense. Now what?
nytimes.com
Flacco's struggles are a reminder of how much the NFL has changed since his rookie season. He was never a mobile QB, and now he's a statue.

The Ravens are throwing an anniversary party this weekend and were kind enough to invite their ex. So I’ll use it as a chance to remind you that in addition to all the vitriol aimed at Art Modell, Al Lerner was just as culpable in the Browns departure

The Ravens are throwing a big bash this weekend and were thoughtful enough to invite their ex-spouse. You know, the one who never recovered.

Teamed up with @jeffzrebiec for this on Joe Flacco, the wise old man who’s beloved by both the Ravens and the Browns. Could it possibly be a happy homecoming Sunday? https://t.co/mW7scMi4Fh

As the Ravens celebrate their 30-year anniversary, the veteran QB will run out from the visiting tunnel for the first time in his career.

Nobody carves the organs out of its fan base quite like the Browns. But it wasn’t all bad Sunday. Not even close.

The biggest reasons for optimism after such a crushing loss are a defense that held up and a D-line that dominated in the second half.

The Browns held the Bengals to 7 net yards in the second half. And lost.

The Guardians celebrated their 1995 World Series team over the weekend. One face was missing, the same face that's always missing at these sorts of things. Where's Albert Belle? https://t.co/5Hx7HH2nHz
nytimes.com
The Guardians have pleaded with Belle multiple times to return, including for Labor Day weekend's honoring of the 1995 team. He has refused.

Mentioned it on Behind the Glass with @MikeLucasTV & @EarldaPearl216 but I've made my own YouTube channel to talk about my nerd stuff and live stream some games. First video is up right now! https://t.co/Vkwd1HxX4D

We are witnessing why 31 teams passed on Shedeur multiple times. The conspiracy theories/sabotage stuff is absurd. He just isn’t good enough yet and isn’t ready to be a starting QB. Teams saw that early and wanted no part of this nonsense. It’s not anymore complicated than that
