The Ravens looked and sounded like a team yesterday that knows it's running low on time. A few questionable calls in Sunday's loss shouldn't distract from the reality that the Ravens haven't been good enough over the past three months to deserve better. https://t.co/emhjNSKin0

Ravens snap counts in loss to Steelers: Vorhees goes distance at LG, meaning Emery Jones gets DNP; limited action for reserve WRs; Mitchell plays 12 snaps before leaving in 3rd quarter with knee injury; Buchanan nears 80 pct. of snaps; quiet day for some of defensive vets

As the Ravens showed once again in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers, they aren’t good enough, and controversial calls shouldn’t distract from that reality

Ravens operation was way too slow on the final drive. They got the ball with 1:56 left and a timeout. Yes, the Vorhees hold was a tough way to start the drive, but to only get to Steelers 30 in that amt of time, they just took way too much time and were way too indecisive

Asked Moore if it mattered that most of Jones' contact seemed to be with the left guard, he said, "It does not necessarily matter who is contacted first. The snapper is still by rule a defenseless player."
Of the 15-yard penalty on Travis Jones that resulted in a 4-point swing, referee Alex Moore said, "The snapper by rule is a defenseless player, so the contact would be unnecessary. Basically, he ran him over."

Butterworth on the reversal of Rodgers deflected pass: "The offensive player had control of the ball and as he was going to the ground, there was a hand in there, but he never lost control of the ball and then his knees hit the ground in control."

On what would constitute a common act in EZ, Butterworth said, "For this play, it would be him completing the third step." Likely took two steps after catch, but ball came out in the process of his third step.
Spoke to NFL VP of Instant Replay Mark Butterworth for pool report. On reversal of Likely catch: "The third step is an act common to the game and before he could get the third foot down, the ball was ripped out. Therefore, it was an incomplete pass."

Lamar Jackson is sacked and that's the ball game. Ravens lose 27-22 and their season is officially on life support. Ravens are 6-7. Special teams was bad. Offense was bad early and didn't finish drives late. And defense didn't do enough in second and third quarters.

That was a big penalty on Keondre Jackson. Cost the Ravens about 13 yards of field position.

Ravens defense forces a punt and they'll get the ball back.

Ravens have their offense on the field on 4th-and-5 at own 46 with 4:24 left. They have all 3 timeouts left, so you could rationalize punting here.

Play is reversed. Steelers keep the ball. Rodgers ruled down by contact.
