It’s scarcely understood nor appreciated how much unions contribute to the development of the fair and just society we have built here in Australia. Hope you enjoyed Labour Day. Remember it’s Unions who advocate relentlessly for better wages and conditions for all working people

A huge congratulations to Labor's newest Member of Parliament, Katelin McInerney, on her win in Kiama tonight. I want to make clear, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far, but our whole Labor team knows there’s still a lot more work ahead.

Say NO to the bullshit trotted out by march for xenophobia haters on Sun. You don’t have to be an anti immigrant racist to be a proud Australian. The Australia I’m proud of welcomes immigrants and recognises they build Australia - instead of scapegoating them for all their ills.

2025 Australia embraces multiculturalism and embraces people and cultures from right around the world. My statement on Sunday’s anti-immigration marches.

No point chanting productivity mantra if it’s code for slashing jobs/increasing profit for few.Discussion should focus on utilising AI to make jobs more interesting for humans, lifting output so we get high wage/employment/ output economy & all benefit. Key is consulting workers.

Employers calls for AI to be unregulated is a recipe for disaster. Without employee input over the use of AI - it simply becomes a tool for massive job destruction and no productivity. We need a regulatory approach to ensure job security and productivity uplift ACTU has it right

After the most devastating loss in living memory you would think the LNP would do some self reflecting on their policy positions but alas it seems they totally incapable of change.

Australia and 27 countries have an urgent message: the war in Gaza must end now. The humanitarian situation is catastrophic. Together with partners, we condemn Israel’s denial of aid and the killing of civilians seeking to access water and food. https://t.co/cfOtFovcLw

Notwithstanding their utter political irrelevance - 10/10 to the federal opposition for hypocrisy and gaul. After massacring our relationship with China when they were in government they now have the nerve to criticise @AlboMP for turning it around and visiting China !

When it comes to the rule of law and free speech I think Australia does better than most. This is an important victory for both free speech and our democracy - hats off to Barrister Phil Boncardo and team.
