Happy Labour Day, everyone! May we all take a moment to thank all those who work 24X7 to keep essentials services functioning to keep us safe and sound. My deepest gratitude to the pioneers in the labour movement who gave us a vision for a just workplace and a caring society.

Heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Mr Sutherland. Your dad will be remembered as a Canadian through and through and a great actor. RIP
With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more

This was @elenoresturko just months ago. Now, my phone is blowing up w/ many members of our community saying theyβre shocked sheβd trade in the safety of our community for a shot at power. Iβm not shocked. It is sad, though. #bcpoli

On this day, Baltej Singh Dhillon won a long and hard historic fight against the gov of the time to have the same freedom as his fellow colleagues. Thank you for paving the way for many others. βπ½ππ½
On this day in 1990, Baltej Singh Dhillon becomes the first RCMP officer allowed to wear a turban. The decision was challenged three years later but the Canadian Human Rights Commission upheld the right for Sikh officers to wear turbans. Dhillon served until 2019.

There are no words for the loss of Ed Broadbent. Every time we chatted he brought me so much thoughtful wisdom. May he rest in power.
