I spoke to @paulhutcheon about my reflections on a challenging year. For me personally, and for millions of Scots. None of us are protected from the risk of hardship. We need to do more as a country to secure a minimum standard of life and dignity for all.

If these “tests” are done under exam conditions, using past papers, then these ARE exams. Learners and Teachers deserve the truth.

Last year @sqanews said there would be no exams this year. Instead they have pupils sitting “tests” on last years past papers under exam conditions for teachers to mark 🤔 No prelims sat before Christmas or work done remotely will be counted towards learners estimated grades 🤯

School league tables achieve nothing but confirmation bias for those in “top” ranked schools and can cause demotivation to the teachers in the “lowest” ranked schools, lower learners confidence, and write learners off before they’ve had the chance. Abolish league tables.

Build Back Kinder is calling on the new Scottish Government to make Child and Adolescent Mental Health Treatment a priority this term. Years waiting on CAHMS list is not acceptable as we enter a Mental Health Pandemic amongst young people. Action is needed now.

I would definitely agree with this statement, as much as I’d love to be back on school again it’s about keeping everyone safe and well. Home schooling definitely is extremely tough on us pupils too we are getting millions of work and becoming extremely overwhelmed.

During lockdown teenagers are especially at risk of coercive control and toxicity in a relationship. If any of this resonates with you please speak to a trusted adult. Don’t ignore the red flags 🚩 💜🐻
These are some of the red flags for teenagers especially to be aware of when they’re getting into their first relationships. One of the highest risk groups for coercive control & domestic abuse are teenagers aged 16-19

Young people could be anxious and confused about all the change that is happening, so now is a really important time to encourage open conversations on mental health and to ask them how they’re feeling. https://t.co/wAnzCdP5Qf

Stigma can affect girls’ and women’s perception of their mental health and prevent them asking for help. Recently we fed into an event with @ALLIANCEScot and @EngenderScot focused on gender equalities and mental health. Read the report: https://t.co/nx77YYfu6W

Not being able to speak out can make someone struggling with their mental health feel worse during the festive season. Be there for someone this Christmas. 🎄
