I know the
#NFL
is a cold business but watching the lack of concern or empathy from the scouts, coaches and observers following David Ojabo’s injury bugs me. Perhaps someone should’ve checked on him instead of grabbing the ball and moving to the next drill. Just a thought..
In 2018, Black QBs STILL have to deal with the perception that they are intellectually inferior.. I’m tired of the “coded” language in scouting reports.. I’m tired of the double standards.. I’m tired of sitting here acting like it’s ok to ignore the “dog whistles”.. It’s dumb
Ryan Tannehill is perfect example of why coaching matters. He looks like a completely different QB with the
@Titans
. Sometimes we need to evaluate the play-callers and QB developers before we call young QBs busts or flameouts. It might the COACHING that’s holding them back
Hmmm... I guess a team full of social activists can focus on 🏈 while also helping those in the community. Maybe more teams should embrace and encourage their players' pursuits outside of football. The
#Eagles
success proves the "distraction" narrative is a myth..
It’s too easy to blame the special teams for the Packers’ loss, but the offense was shut down for almost 3 quarters. We can tip toe around it, but MVPs should be able to seal the deal in playoff games.. The standard is the standard, right? 🤔
Jameis Winston plays pro football like it’s a neighborhood game with the homies. Don’t worry about turnovers.. Just keep slingin’ the rock. At some point, one of the homies will make a play. Just make one more play than the other guys..
This might not seem like a big deal but NFL scouts will share this story with execs and coaches in pre-draft meetings. It speaks to Burrow’s competitiveness, poise and clutch factor while also highlighting his multi-sport background (All-State HS BBall Player).
The Oklahoma football team faced the LSU football team in a basketball shooting challenge. The Sooners had all but locked it up. Unfortunately, Joe Burrow went last — and of course went 10-for-12 😳 (📷 from

Top 5 Transcendent QB Talents
1. Patrick Mahomes, KC
2. Russell Wilson, Seattle
3. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay
4. DeShaun Watson, Houston
5. Matt Stafford, Detroit
Transcendent: (adjective) surpassing the ordinary; exceptional; supreme; magnificent

Russell Wilson is the consummate professional to handle the Broncos’ financial ultimatum and benching threats, while continuing the lead the team to wins. Though he is not the player he once was, he deserved to be treated with more respect. The sideline tongue lashings, in…
The
@Patriots
are chameleons. They can change their styles based on matchups.. They’re not married to a particular approach or game plan. They simply do whatever is necessary to win. Love ‘em or Hate ‘em, you have to respect them and how they do things..
Explain to me how
@OBJ_3
isn’t a $20M+ WR when Sammy Watkins is at $16M? Better yet, tell me how Bortles, Keenum, Bradford, Cousins and so many others are more deserving than him.. Oh, I don’t see any SB rings on those QB’s fingers either
@BuckyBrooks
He's not worth 20m lol. I hear you but still...no thanks. Pull up recent SB winning teams who backed up the Brinks truck to a WR. I'll wait...
It’s kinda funny to hear all of the hate spewed at an accomplished A+ WR asking for $20M+ per year when we have B-/C+ QBs making $20-$22M annually and no one says a word..
Brian Flores won’t fully get the credit he deserves for this
@Patriots
defensive performance due to BB’s presence and reputation but the
@MiamiDolphins
new head coach served up a masterpiece.. The game plan was cleverly designed and flawlessly executed.. Kudos to BF
I hate when “coded” language is used when assessing black QBs. Even if Haskins did have a learning disability or dyslexic, it’s on the coaches to accommodate his learning style to help him succeed. It’s BS that this narrative is being floated w/o ownership. Leaves lasting scars

Pro Day workout..
1. A+ arm talent
2. MLB pitcher with every pitch in the bag. Drive throws, touch, timing & anticipation.
3. Game/Arm talent fits old school systems
DH is the classic drop back passer who has dominated the league the past 30 years
49ers-Dolphins...Kyle Shanahan trying to control his own fate. You trade up to 3 for a QB who is NFL-ready right now, not a project. And to me that says Mac Jones.
This will make the
@dak
haters cringe..
Thru 10 games, No.4 is averaging more pass YPG and a higher comp % than 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes did at this point last year
No.4: 322.1 Pass YPG & 67.7 % comp rate
No.15: 315.0 Pass YPG & 67.0% comp rate
How big is the check gonna be?
The NFL has a QB evaluation and development problem. There’s no other way to spin it.. The league doesn’t know what leads to success at the position. And coaches do not know how to play around a QB’s flaws. Until those issues are fixed, we will continue to see a revolving door at…
From 2021-2022 there were 19 quarterbacks selected in the NFL Draft
Only 2 of those 19 are expected to start in Week 1:
Trevor Lawrence (first pick in 2021)
Brock Purdy (last pick in 2022)

right now? Who makes your list?
Here’s mine:
1. Aaron Donald

3. Ezekiel Elliott
4. DeAndre Hopkins
5. Jalen Ramsey
Would you give each of these players a 3-yr., fully guaranteed deal at top of the market prices?

After watching 3 1/2 quarters of this game, I have no idea how coaches are going to teach defensive players how to make a "legal" tackle in the
@NFL
. I'm looking at textbook wrap-up tackles drawing flags tonight. I just don't know how you can legislate contact out of the game
The term “franchise” QB is loosely thrown around these days. What you’re seeing from Mahomes is what the term should mean. A dominant payer at the position with the capacity to take over the game when needed. If your QB can’t do that, he’s not a franchise player.
#TENvsKC
This is garbage. Coaches are supposed to be teachers with the field viewed as their classroom. What is Jimbo teaching his players by using these barbaric tactics?
Speaks volumes about the respect Marinelli has for Richard. He’s already handed him the call sheet and he praises him at every turn. Uncommon to see coaches check their egos like that..
Remember that one time when Cam Newton barked at Ron Rivera and all of the commotion that ensued? Hmmm... 🤔
I'm sure this will be viewed as "passion", love of the game and all that jazz..
I hope after this weekend we can appreciate QBs with different styles. Josh Allen & Lamar Jackson were heavily critiqued & scrutinized during the pre-draft process and beyond but they’ve been the best QBs of the 2018 class. Lesson: Recognize talent and imagine the possibilities
The way Todd Bowles handled this situation is the perfect blueprint for how other coaches should deal with a bad hand from the dealer. Instead of crying about the lack of personnel during the rebuilding phase, TB coached his tail off & won games despite the odds. That's coaching
No one will want to hear this but
@JManziel2
tape w/CLE is not as bad as you think... I can see why teams are checking in w/ the Heisman Trophy winner after the “buzz” started building after scouts saw him at a few Pro Days...If he handles biz off the field, he’s getting a shot
I would love to know what the internal expectations were for this team in each of the past two years. Back-to-back one-and-done coaches who were tasked with winning with an inferior roster and no QB. It’s not only a bad look, but it continues to make a mockery of hiring process
Lots of Kadarius Toney hate after his disappointing performance.. I would chime in that he missed most of camp following knee surgery. I know we view players like superheroes but it’s hard to play well without practice and preparation. Despite his efforts to return to be there…
Maybe we should show the
@Titans
more love as a title contender. They keep whipping folks with their physical style but they’re rarely mentioned as the best squad in the AFC. Why???🤔

@TheKylerMurray
Pro Day has been pretty impressive to watch. He has A+ arm talent and is an “easy” thrower. KM can make a wide range of throws to every area of the field.. Touch, timing, anticipation, drive throws and feathery tosses.. Plus, he’s a A+ athlete.. 5⭐️ player
There’s a young generation of QB who were greatly influenced by Cam’s success at Auburn & in the NFL. The football world hadn’t seen an athletic QB win at a high level (college) while playing an “non-traditional” way. With Cam also showing some pizzazz, he gave youngsters hope
.
@Ravens
opted for culture > talent. Winning teams value the collective over the individual. When the leaders of the team reportedly asked the team to pull the plug, Harbaugh didn’t have any choice but the let the veteran go. He would’ve lost the team if he ignored their pleas
The QB evaluation biz is funny... Dak has been the BEST QB in the 2016 class despite being a 4th-round pick. No.1 (Goff) and No.2 (Wentz) got paid but we still need to wait and see if Dak deserves his bag. Maybe it’s windy but the goal posts are always moving for some QBs...
.
@danorlovsky7
double's down after saying it would be a grave mistake for the Cowboys to pay Dak Prescott $40 million a year.
"Dak Prescott's a good quarterback. I want somebody ... to tell me when Dak has been great?!"
I don't know why Derrius Guice fell down the charts but the
@Redskins
got a 1st-rd talent on Day 2. DG is a rugged runner with a blue-collar game built on grit, toughness & violence. He is the best runner the 'Skins have featured at RB1 since Clinton Portis. For real.

Ryan Poles definitely did Justin Fields a solid by sending him to a team with coaches with the capacity to support him and build around his skill set. No guarantees, but JF1 should be able to thrive in PIT whether he “redshirts” behind Russ or wins the QB1 job. The combo of a…
The referees called a helmet to helmet penalty on a defender attempting to make a low tackle in a key situation in the Bengals-Jets game. These rules drive me crazy because there is no common sense applied to them
#NFL
Sam Darnold is facing an NFL defense tonight. Ohio State has pro personnel in an NFL-like scheme that features a lot of pre-snap disguise, late-moving coverage and exotic blitzes. OSU DC Greg Schiano is really muddying the picture for Darnold..
Lesson to be learned from the Kitchens/Cleveland situation: Don’t hire the QB’s best friend/play caller. Hire a leader who can hold the QB1 and the entire team accountable while also providing a vision and structure for the team. Being head coach is about leadership not schemes

> 2018 QB Class
Size ✅
Football IQ ✅
Arm Talent ✅
Accuracy ✅
Pocket Passer ✅
Production ✅
Big Game Performance ✅
You can knock the experience (1-year starter) and C- running skills but it’s hard to poke holes in his game... Classic QB1
Credit Mike Mayock for bringing in “culture changers” into the locker room. Each of the draftees had exemplary football character (IQ, work ethic, toughness and selflessness) and winning pedigrees. Don’t underestimate the pedigree...Winners win.. They understand what’s necessary
After watching Josh Allen today and Lamar Jackson on Monday, I wonder how the 2018 QB list will look like at the end of 2019. Allen and Jackson have exceeded expectations and led their team to significant wins.. That’s what it’s all about, right?
Any deep ball thrown inside the numbers should be on the FS. Diggs played with outside leverage, made a speed turn that forced the WR to stay inside. If the FS can judge the ball, he walks into an easy pick because Jones stares down the throw.. That’s a high school play.
Coaching is teaching... You're supposed to love, encourage and inspire your students. Steve Kerr is demonstrating how we can elevate the performance of our players by "building" them up instead of "tearing" them down.. I wish more coaches would try it this way
I hope
@Chiefs
OC Eric Bieniemy gets the same kind of ❤️ from GMs and owners that Matt Nagy and Doug Pederson received for their roles developing QBs and directing a clever and creative offense.. Just sayin’
Justin Herbert looks like an absolute star in the making as a franchise QB. He’s another example of why imagination is an important part of the evaluation process. Several evaluators couldn’t see Herbert’s potential due to how he played in Oregon’s offense. Traits > production
If people REALLY listen to Bienemy and digest what he’s saying, they will see that he’s more than qualified to lead a team. It’s about connecting (relationships), developing (helping players grow on and off the field) and leading (teaching poise and resilience). EB does that..
The response to the Khalil Mack trade has been interesting.. Some fans are scresaming the price tag is too high for an elite player but we are ok with average QBs making $20M.. It’s weird how some teams want to pay the position not the player. Great players should get their value
If the Browns win a playoff game with limited on-field practice, we might need to re-examine how much physical work is needed to play at a high level. Maybe you can win with detailed meetings and simulated work. Freshness > Grind/fatigue??
#CLEvsPIT

@dallascowboys
must’ve peeked ahead at the 2019 WR class and determined Amari Cooper is better than any top WR prospect. I would agree.. There’s not a Top 10-worthy WR in the next class.. Snagging a Top 5 pick/2x Pro Bowler is a better bet despite No. 89’s flaws
Since the football world doesn’t really value RBs from a monetary standpoint, I wonder if Hunt, Kamara, Howard and Conner will get paid when it’s their time.. Everyone loves them when they’re cheap, but they don’t really like them when it’s time to write a big check 🤔
This guy... GM’s job is to protect the future of the franchise. No.7 tosses out retirement talk like tic-tacs, so the
@Steelers
need to have a succession plan in place. Rudolph gives them a young QB to develop over the next few years. Big Ben had to know it was coming
Watching
@PatrickMahomes5
play confirms kids should play multiple sports coming up. You can’t tell me he makes these “wow” throws without playing baseball growing up..
Injured or not, Hendon Hooker is no worse than the QB3 in this class. Talented and experienced with the athleticism and passing prowess that is required to play at a high level in this league. There might be sexier prospects, but there are not many QBs with better skills than HH.
This is unbelievable.. It’s also disrespectful to his teammates & every
#NFL
player who’s ever stepped onto the field. Pro football is big business but you’re still supposed to play for the ❤️of the game and competition.
BG’s is an example why you have to be careful who you pay
So Brent Grimes said on his wife’s podcast he didn’t want to play because they asked him to shadow Antonio Brown and other top WRs and he only made $7-million while CBs who shadow make $14M. And you wonder why
#GoBucs
lost? Not one coach/GM held him accountable.
Arnette is a rock-solid CB with polished game. He didn’t get a lot of love during the process but he’s one of the few CBs in the draft with the versatility to play press, bail or off in a man or zone scheme.
@Raiders
pick might’ve surprised many but his tape is solid.
#NFLDraft
This is why teams need a check and balances system within the front office. Coaches are short-sighted when it comes to team building. GMs think about the long-term interests of the squad.. You don’t draft and develop an All-Pro player to trade him away. That’s bad business..
Whoever coaches the
#Titans
next season should spent the bulk of the offense creating a no-huddle offense that allows No.8 to play fast. He's clearly more comfortable playing with tempo as opposed to the huddle up approach. Coaches should play to their best player's strengths.
If Ryan Tannehilll gets $29.5M per year (4-yr., $118M) w/$62M+ in guarantees, you can forget about Dak settling for $33M annually.. If 1/2 a season of good play gets you almost $30M, a solid 4-year run as a starter is gonna command significantly more money..
I’m a big Josh McCown fan as a person and player. However, the fact that he’s able to skip the line to get an interview and serious consideration speaks volumes about the hiring process. Regardless of whether he gets it or not, the move is disrespectful to so many in the game.
I love offensive football but I don’t know if you can win a Super Bowl w/a defense that gives up a fifty-burger in a big game.Just doesn’t seem like the football gods would bless you with a trophy when you can’t get consistent stops. I don’t know if this style wins playoff games
This is the version of the
@Steelers
that everyone used to hate to play. A hard-nosed, rugged team fueled by a defense that would hit you in the mouth at every turn. With a young nucleus in place that will grow together over the next few years, PIT will be a problem in the AFC
The
@Steelers
lead the NFL in sacks, QB hits & takeaways in 2019
Since the 1970 merger, only 1 team has led the NFL outright in both sacks & takeaways for a full, non-strike-shortened season
That team? The 1974 Steelers — the original Steel Curtain & Super Bowl IX champions
I’m sure
@LeVeonBell
is “disappointed” the team didn’t give him a deal at fair market value.. They should’ve thought about his absence when they failed to make him an offer that matched his talent and production.. Steelers had two years to avoid this holdout..
Why don’t we include Zeke Elliott in the top RB discussion?
@dallascowboys
RB1 has consistently put up big
#s
since stepping into the league. BTW, he missed 6 games in 2017 and still sits atop the list w/24 100+ scrimmage yard games since 2016 🤔
Royce Freeman could be one of the draft's biggest surprises when we see him suit up for the
@Broncos
. We always talk about finding quality RBs in the 2nd- and 3rd round. Freeman could be the Day 2 RB that we talk about at the end of the season like Hunt/Kamara
#NFLDraft
The
#Cowboys
aren’t connected in the locker room. They’re a selfish bunch and that shows up in their play. A bunch of “me” guys playing as individual contractors. That’s why they don’t hustle, communicate or fight for each other. Everyone is a solid artist not a band member
This is just a small part of why I’m all in on
@dh_simba7
. There’s so much nuance to QB play and he already has a terrific grasp of the “why” when it comes to decision making.
Once again, I will say that No.7 plays the position like the great ones have played it for 20+years..
It might be time to change the narrative about
@bigten
football teams being big and slow. We've seen all kinds of explosive athletes shining on big stages the past 24 hours.. 🏃🏿💨💨💨💨
We’ve seen the

and

hit the

in the mouth and they haven’t responded. If you keep putting soft football on tape, you’re gonna get a heavy dose of power football from now until it changes.. Big Boy Football wins in the playoffs..
#NFL
I wonder if Dak will get credit for his 400+ game and EPIC comeback..
Considering the OL woes, turnovers and suspect defense, this game should silence some of his critics, right? 🤔
So disrespectful.
@terrellowens
was a dominant player in the league for his ENTIRE career. For him to be on the outside looking in w/hisnumbers & resume is a travesty. If you played against him, you know how he impacted the game as WR1 and how fearful you (& coaches) were vs him

The new deal would make Tucker the highest-paid African-American head coach in U.S. sports.
How is it unnecessary roughness to hit a PR fielding a kick? The Gunner is going 100 MPH and he's supposed to know the PR is going to bend down or squat to catch a kick... It's unrealistic..
Different breed of athletes at DB. Hats off to the HS/CFB coaches who convinced these explosive athletes to play defense instead of "touching" the ball.. Size+Speed+AA+Ball Skills=💰
Any HS player measuring 5-10+ should start back pedaling today. There's a lot of $ to be made..
😢
DT is not only one of the best players that I’ve ever played with but he was a great teammate to me.. He made it a point to make me feel important when I was just a “role” player with the
@chiefs
and that doesn’t always happen on pro teams..
#RIP58
Does the QB-driven league narrative change if the Final Four features Foles, Keenum, Bortles and Brady? What does that say about team-building? Should execs start focusing their efforts on building squads that aren't COMPLETELY dependent on the QB? 🤔
It’s funny how this hiring thing works. You have an ex-NFL player who has ascended to OC role of the NFL No.1 offense thru years of work viewed as unqualified or not ready for the job but a 30-ish OC w/one-year of play-calling experience is a hot candidate. Make it make sense 🤔
Been texting with an NFL source this morning who thinks there's a very strong chance Eric Bieniemy isn't hired for a HC opportunity this cycle.
Cites concern about Reid's coaching tree and timing w/Chiefs expected to make another SB run
There aren’t enough people talking about Brown as arguably the best player in the draft. It’s uncommon to see a big man with his combination of size, strength and explosiveness. Not to mention, he’s a 100% effort guy. He’s special. I mean gold jacket special.

It will be interesting to see if “addition by subtraction” works out better for the

I hate the slow leaks and character assassinations leading up to the draft. If you don’t like a player or don’t want to pick a player, it’s all good… No need to pile on with information that stigmatizes a player whether it’s true or not.. The NFL Draft is a soap opera but the…
It’s kinda interesting watching Dwayne Haskins and Justin Herbert on back to back days. Everyone assumed that Herbert was the unanimous No.1, if both underclassmen came out but Haskins has definitely been more consistent and is a cleaner QB prospect. He’s not consolation prize
