And I'm not in any way comparing this to that. All I'm saying is that in some circumstances, we should be able put our differences aside. I wish we were still capable of that. People can't even do it with school shootings anymore.
The events of today, and days like it, bring me back to 9/11. The silver lining from that awful, awful day was how we were all able to put aside our differences and unite in the name of what was right. Feels like with each day like this one, we're less and less capable of that.

You have to start somewhere, Couch. That there was no fight over taxpayer money is a statement. And that they're doing costly things with the playing surface and roof that won't generate profits, but are good for everyone involved, says something too.
They’re investing money from their trillion dollar family fortune into a privately owned facility that is a guaranteed entertainment cash cow using municipal and state government tax shelters, Albert. They’re not opening up a soup kitchen.

Credit it where it's due—The Waltons are REALLY stepping up here. Stadium is privately financed and they're paying for a natural grass field and a retractable roof, elements that'll be good for players/fans/the sport. Maybe we find holes in the plan later. But it looks good.

Fifteen of the NFL's 30 stadiums opened between 1995 and 2003. Tennessee is already in the process of being replaced. Jacksonville essentially is too. Meanwhile, Cleveland, Washington and now Denver are pushing for new venues. That's five of the 15 within 30 years of opening.
