💥 TRADE PROPOSAL: The Mets would acquire Freddie Peralta, the Brewers ace (17-6, 2.70 ERA), in exchange for two of the Mets’ top pitching prospects and Ryan Clifford, who’s on the verge of cracking the MLB Top 100. Per - @JimDuquetteGM

If Pete Alonso is truly open to being a DH, there’s zero argument against a reunion between him and the Mets.

He’s great INF depth. Good glove, plays multiple positions, steals bases
David Stearns on Luisangel Acuña's place on the Mets: "Acuña is such a unique player because the floor is so high of what he can provide. The offensive contribution doesn't need to be elite to solidify an everyday role on a Major League team"

On the last year of his contract doubt it will cost a ton. Think this is a move they will make

No shit. It never made any sense to keep him and eat a 63M dead cap hit in ‘26 just so they could win 5 games. Don’t know how that was even controversial after seeing how far they were from being a contender last year
Where'd all the "#Jets should've never let Rodgers walk" people go? Rodgers' play this season—and the Jets' ensuing long-term position—has shown precisely why it was always a sound process for Aaron Glenn to let go of him 👉 https://t.co/KcfoMKD3cx

I can’t do this for 4 months again. He has hit 30+ HRs in 6 of his 7 seasons (the one he didn’t was a 60 game season). That’s hard to replace. Offense needs more as it is. Letting him walk just creates another hole
UPDATE The Mets are expected to let Pete Alonso depart unless he signs a deal the team cannot turn down, per @BNightengale

Trading Senga at his lowest value would suck but you also can’t rely on him if he stays. Stearns has a lot of work to do
.@WillSammon throws a little cold water on the idea the Mets will go over Munetaka Murakami or Kazuma Okamoto. He also says Kodai Senga has garnered early trade interest, but the Mets haven’t shown an interest in dealing him.
