Trying to imagine a world where a third party controls the B+R for the most popular format of the game I work on is giving me a panic attack.

Spitting facts w/ this one. I always stay appreciating Mark and how much he’s taught me about the process of game design. And as much as his transparency over the years set me up to understand how damn hard the work is… it’s even harder than that.

Anyway, my advice if you don’t like flood/screw is not to take it out of a game system that requires it to create dynamic situations—just go find a game that uses a different system. I happen to know a great one….

There are hundreds of games that use Magic’s mana system “but fixed” (every big release in the last year) and they are all very boring and have the exact same problem. I find screw/flood impossible to go back to now, but I’m simultaneously convinced Magic-likes don’t work w/o it.

I have seen the raccoon, thank you. I’d be lying if I said my enthusiasm wasn’t dampened somewhat by also seeing Leonardo da Vinci and *everyone in a cowboy hat* on the same day, but I do appreciate the effort.
