Once again, the "real threat" to pedestrians on pavements is not cyclists - it's motor vehicles - regardless of how often you think cyclists may ride on the pavement. Bicycles are small, slow, light, and manoeuvrable. Motor vehicles are the opposite.

@richardparke15 @Petewrestling @exolon @roadcc EVIDENCE shows MOST car drivers stop at red lights, zebra crossings - cyclists IGNORE both & ride on pavements, a real threat to vulnerable pedestrians. Not that you care. £300M last year speeding fines for motorists. How many fines do cyclists pay? #blamecars bikebrain!

@CityPolice @but_cyclists Good work… but… 300 divided by 180 days equals 1.65 per day. Come to my city, two ‘jumpers’ in three seconds.

The UK's welfare system is not generous: spending fell well below the average for high-income countries in the 1980s and never recovered. Leaving people on PIP or UC in poverty is holding back our economy, not to mention the impact on society. We need to invest in people.

I joined 62 MPs backing a reasoned amendment against the Universal Credit & PIP Bill. So many are terrified. Despite concessions the cuts will still push hundreds of thousands into poverty. The cuts must be scrapped.

I am going into the Commons Chamber to speak against & vote against the Government’s appalling Bill to cut disability benefits. I urge all Labour MPs to do so. I was elected to protect disabled people not harm them.

Matt Hancock previously told the Inquiry that the main cause of infections in care homes was care home staff. He based this claim on the Vivaldi study. Today, the author of that study, Prof. Laura Shallcross, told the Inquiry that her study does NOT show that.

Those in charge lost their moral compass. The bereaved, their loved ones and carers deserved so much better. Pete Weatherby KC, on behalf of the Covid Bereaved, at the opening of the @covidinquiryuk Care hearings today.

The closure of Healthwatch bodies is a backward step for accountability in health and care. Without independent scrutiny, who’s left to ask the tough questions or listen to patients and carers? We need checks and balances more than ever. #Healthwatch #unpaidcarers @CarersTrust

Around 400 Palestinians, including dozens of children, have been killed while trying to get humanitarian assistance. I don’t recall these incidents (including this weekend) leading many papers or news bulletins. Are we really saying a few chants from a couple of musicians is more
