Admin: Class sizes will NOT be increased!. Fall semester schedule: Lol. (Many 40-person calculus classes are weirdly located in 60-80 person classrooms for fall) . (Ask me about the big renovation to a building that produced lots of 40-person calc classrooms that now sits empty).

I am giving a required evening exam in a building where all the exterior doors are locked. I have a TA posted at a door to let students in. Solid decision-making to start locking all building doors at absolutely ridiculous times EVEN WHEN THERE IS NIGHTTIME TESTING. Big 🧠 energy.

I’m getting back in the Rooms, working those steps, and maybe eventually being a sponsor. Sober holidays are hard, but the other path leads to destruction (this is not an exaggeration). I’m not drinking/using with you today. #RecoveryPosse.

Hardest times of my life have me feeling an assortment of feels that need to be examined and dissected, and nothing helps more than a community that knows exactly what I’m going through. It’s not a weakness, it’s being proactive and resourceful. Words are nothing w/o actions so.

I’ve been away from Twitter for a while but I dropped back in to complain about my work situation, so I wanted to also drop back in to say that I’m still sober (10 years, 5 months) but I’m back in the Rooms. It’s been several years but it’s time I get back to it. (10 year coin!)

Oh also don’t forget that travel funding FOR ANY REASON BY FACULTY has been frozen for two years. At least in my department, I’m sure it’s similar for others. So I can’t go to any PD, any conferences, I can’t apply for Project NExT, and on and on and on.

Love how unserious WVU is. This could have saved some of my colleagues’ jobs. It could funded some TA lines. It could have funded my measly coordination stipend for like a million years. But hey, wouldn’t want an administrator to have to drive like a peasant.
