How can we have higher expectations . I’m appalled at the outcome of what’s happened in the US but honestly how can we expect or demand a higher standard, when our country went low too👇🏿

It’s time to INVEST in @DjirraVIC’s specialist services that work with Mums experiencing violence to stay safe & together with their children. We MUST keep our children out of these unsafe & punitive systems. Our children’s lives matter to us & they MUST matter to govt 5/5.

Our system is overstretched because the most vulnerable and marginalised are targeted by it. Family violence is one of the biggest drivers to our kids being caught up in the UNSAFE SYSTEM @DjirraVIC 4/5.

There are NO WORDS strong enough to describe our horror in learning that in the last year alone 20 children have died in state care, with 6 of those deaths occurring between 1 July and 30 September. The majority of children that died were under 2 years of age @DjirraVIC 2/5.

We MUST see detail on exactly HOW & WHEN promised funding will be allocated. Unless & until sustainable long-term funding hits the ground, nothing will change & Aboriginal women & their children will continue to be unsafe & in danger @DjirraVIC @NationalFVPLS #NAJP #saveFVPLS 3/3.

This has been made possible because of the advocacy of @DjirraVIC, and many others, informing the new National Access to Justice Partnership (NAJP). BUT NOW WE NEED ACTION @NationalFVPLS 2/5.
