Never thought I’d need to say this, but:.When designing covers, be aware that a lot of teens and young adults can no longer read cursive. It’s not taught in a lot of US schools. I just showed a cool cover to some college students and was shocked that they couldn’t read the title.

My son, who loves cats, was very sad to leave the cats behind and go to college. He has been there less than 24 hours and has been found by a stray. We’ll see how this proceeds, but it appears the cat distribution system is alive and well. 😂.

Why would readers trust an author enough to read their book but skip the prologue? If my book has a prologue and you choose not to read it, you better not tell me all the bits that later don’t make sense. Because they all tie back to that prologue.

@moniza_hossain I think unschooling is very misunderstood. It doesn’t mean you ignore teaching this stuff. It means you provide opportunities to learn it in other ways, which is really hard. It requires lots of connections, mentoring and not at all hoping math somehow diffuses into their brains.

Ok, it’s done. Twenty years of homeschooling my kids. Last one has graduated high school, and their final transcript sent to the college that accepted them. Feels so anti-climactic, like I’m retiring from something that took SO MUCH WORK and no one knows. Bizarre.
