Who is going to STEP UP and own the decisions that led to this? Who decided to investigate? Why? What did you accomplish? Legal outcome (both at Iowa and ISU) appears to be a couple silly tickets written while real life outcome is some major damage to a lot of great young men.
Deshawn Hanika’s sports gambling-related case for records tampering and identity theft is dismissed, with State responsible for all court costs. State had missed indictment deadline; Hanika pleaded Not Guilty and maintains he never committed a crime.

Completely on brand for the NCAA. Every opportunity where an adult could have stepped in to bring sanity to this mess they failed to do so. NCAA, DCI, legal system, etc. All of them failed these young men.
Kirk Ferentz announces that the NCAA has upheld its original ruling on DT Noah Shannon. He'll miss the entire 2023 season and his Iowa career is over.
