True! In March they - minus the 6 countries which boycotted - voted to be part of a reformed USSR. Except those reforms never happened and by mid-December, every republic had already declared independence. Sometimes there are weeks (or 9 months) where decades happen 🔨
@BoxLoner Actually they had a referendum in 1991 where people voted 78% favored preservation of the USSR where more individual rights were granted and the USSR remained.
