LEGO interface panels are beautiful, iconic, and great for learning interface design basics. I bought 52 of them from BrickLink and had a lot of fun last week analysing the design of them all. Here's what I learned:

In addition, restricting questions to a Q&A field and also allowing moderators/chairs to rephrase them adds value, weeding out the famous ‘This is more a comment...’. #EMBLInfectionResearch

Also, I like ‘the new normal’ of attending a scientific conference online. 25 EUR fee, no unnecessary travel, time with my kids during the lunch break... ...and no hangover tomorrow morning.

My compliments to @EMBLEvents on running such a great #EMBLInfectionResearch conference. I’ve been glued to my screen for the past eight hours. Stellar lineup of speakers, exciting talks, excellent chairing.

Definitely an unusual setting for attending @iotlondon, and it wouldn’t be juice if we were all in the same room. Stellar lineup with @Kevin_Ashton, @davidrose and @uah. It’s true. Feeling a bit sentimental about this.

I've really become a #Python fan over the past three years, especially for its great #datascience frameworks. But, whenever I need to wrangle big nasty text files, I'm still enjoying a few #Perl trick shots.

Great post by @timbray on why he’s leaving Amazon – TL;DR: AWS employees are treated very well, but treatment of warehouse workers sucks, and whistleblowing gets you fired https://t.co/41NMsjb2uw

There are a lot of phylogenetic trees 🌳getting bounced about in the midst of #COVID19 and they’re getting really really big. A phylogenetic tree is a valuable resource mid #pandemic but they're not always easy to interpret. Here's a brief explainer on just one aspect. 1/11

Grateful for this @spiegelonline article: https://t.co/xdXCk9KReL — while I greet the enthusiasm for DIY solutions, developing medical devices is hard, for many reasons. We should not get carried away because an @arduino can -in principle- control a bag.

Thanks for all the replies. Completely removing all but the CPU from the mainboard (including memory) and putting it back together resolved the problem.

My son built a PC from scratch without adult supervision. After a week of repeated fiddling with it [...], now it's entirely dead and doesn't even go to BIOS settings anymore. Good resources for troubleshooting?

Colleagues from Harvard, Warwick, Cambridge and other universities want to understand how people cope with coronavirus. I just did the survey myself and it took me less than 10 minutes. It is available in many languages. https://t.co/90VXsmMLAN
