As SL tried to get back in to the game, the Bootle defence was resilient and kept them to half chances. Bootle were a threat on the break and Day Staff found himself with space, he picked out Tommy Rowe thundering in to the box to finish off a great move with a diving header 4-1

As South Liverpool tried to get back in to the game Broady and Powelly went ferreting for the ball in the half way line, winning it back for McShane to play in Day Staffo who made no mistake with the finish and provided a bit of daylight for the first time.

Bootle started the second half on the front foot and went 2-1 in front. A ball in to McShane⁩ who plays a great no look pass over the left back for Berger⁩ to control and cut inside. He clips a great ball to Day Staff at the far post who volleys it in. Great goal

South Liverpool equalised just a few minutes later with a deflected free kick from 25 yards that wrong footed Parko in the Bootle net. That meant we came in at half time level at 1-1

After a cagey 30 minutes or so, Bootle broke the deadlock when Berger⁩ ran down the right flank, cut inside and plays in Day Staffo⁩ 20 yards out. His shot is blocked inside the 6 yard box and it looks like their back 3 switch off and Jay McShane taps in unmarked.

A superb performance for the lads today. On it from minute one and we're relentless for the entire game, matching the energy of the opposition and creating chances throughout, particularly in the second half.

South Liverpool in the semi final of the County Cup next week at home, 11am kick off of anyone fancies it. Should be a good game where I'm sure we'll give a good account of ourselves. Bar will be open at 12 and some food will be laid on afterwards. Up the Bucks

Everyone played well without anyone absolutely tearing it up. Mike Stuart just pipping a few others to the MOM vote with a solid display at the back and helping himself to a goal and an assist.

A decent enough game on really testing conditions (one of the most uneven pitches you're ever likely to play on). The lads played well enough though and we're unlucky to concede, especially sheet a wonder penalty save by Parko in the second half.
