Announcer & Matchday DJ at Liverpool F. C. since 1971. My Book 'The Voice Of Anfield' is available now from Amazon. Long-serving Equity member of good standing
Good News !! Just been told officially I WILL be working at Anfield during season 2018/19. This will be season 48 for me so I'm hoping I can make the round 50 without losing my marbles altogether !!!

Sad to hear of the passing of Peter Robinson. This really is the end of an era. I was a Kopite when he took over in 1965 and I owe my 50 years working at Anfield entirely to him. Liverpool fans are in debt to him for the club they have today. R.I.P. PBR.
@BSK_mcfc
I've been the Stadium Announcer and match day DJ at Anfield for forty-eight years and we have NEVER had to do that. The footage is from a Stadium tour.
I'm beyond distraught. Gerry Marsden has been a Huge part of Liverpool, the club and the City, for 60 years. He was a lovely man who won't ever be forgotten in this city. R. I. P. Gerry
George Sephton, the
@VoiceOfAnfield
, has been the Liverpool Football Club stadium announcer for an amazing 50 years and here he's the recipient of some very special messages from the current and a former manager of the club.

Some drivel about the Reds in the media today. It's still OCTOBER ! The best manager since the Shankly/Paisley era is in charge &,yes, we're having a bad time but I've been watching LFC for 70 years & I know these things happen! Take a deep breath & get a grip! We are Liverpool!
I'm privileged to have seen the entire Liverpool career of Roger Hunt. I stood on the Kop when he started playing for LFC. I was working for Liverpool at his testimonial. I even attended his first game for Bolton at Burnden Park. I'm genuinely devastated. R. I. P. Sir Roger.
IF ONLY I KNEW THAT I’D END UP WORKING FOR THE CLUB FOR HALF A CENTURY. THAT ROGER AND BOBBY WOULD BE PIVOTAL IN ENGLAND WINNING THE WORLD CUP SIX YEARS LATER . AND THAT SHANKS HAD STARTED AN ADVENTURE THAT WOULD SEE LIVERPOOL CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND, EUROPE AND THE WORLD
When I started on the p.a. at LFC in 1971 there was a skinny kid (17)in the reserves I used to rave about to friends and work colleagues. Today he has a cupboard full of medals and is revered and loved by Reds everywhere. Happy 70th birthday to Phil Thompson
OK Folks - its D Day . Whatever you want to do to help today then do it ! Pray , Light candles, cross your fingers , burn incense - anything ! And if you're going to Anfield get there early and be loud !!
To all those of you travelling to Kiev or even already there. Stay safe. Cheer the lads on to number six and bring old jug ears back home where it belongs !!!
IMHO the rightful fuss over Karius's howlers has deflected attention from the real turning point of the night which was Sergio Ramos' disgraceful tackle on poor Mo Salah which could at best be described as cynical and looked like something from a jiu-jitsu handbook
#gutted
In the last couple of weeks I've been mourning the loss of a couple of old school friends as well as Dickie Davies and John Motson. I will NOT be shedding any tears for Sir Bernard Ingham
Reading some posts on here and can't BELIEVE some of the nonsense. I'm gutted personally at being 2nd in the League but I'm gutted for my club. I'm disappointed. Of course . But please don't start slagging people off on my timeline. They need you behind them next Sunday.
Pepe Reina; "You cannot say NO to Barcelona."
Luis Suarez; "It will be difficult to say No to a club like Real Madrid."
Daniel Agger; "I can say NO to just about any club in the world
as long as Liverpool Football Club want me to stay."
This is NOT A goal. It IS as unlucky a near miss as it gets! On the other hand neither is it the end of the World OR a reason to throw the towel in. Unbeaten till the New Year and 4 points clear !! Bring it on !!!!!
A Happy New year to you and yours alongside a polite reminder that Liverpool go into 2021 as Champions of England, top of the Premier League, managed by the best coach on the planet. And, until the delayed final, we still hold the World Club Championship!!
Tonight isn't the time for the old rivalries. I hope we'll all show a little decorum. Liverpool fans are known for their dignity. Let's keep it that way.
Different generations say Inter Milan 65, St Etienne 77, Chelsea semi 2005. Some say the 3-2 derby against Everton? Name what you think is the SINGLE Greatest atmosphere you've ever been part of at Anfield (The Shrine)

If I was an ambulance driver or paramedic I'd print out what Kelvin McKenzie called them on Twitter this morning and sellotape it to the dashboard in the hope that one day you'll be called to help him. Good Luck to ALL our NHS workers
Urgent help required. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some cardboard boxes at short notice? Woman I know has to move house & doesn’t have much time to prepare.If anyone can help, please drop any boxes round at Theresa’s house? It’s 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA
Sad to lose out last night but today there are FAR more important things to contemplate on the Anniversary of the blackest day in our club's history. R.I.P. the 96
Ok folks. We have a game to win a week tomorrow. City have TWO chances to drop a point or two. In between times possibly ANOTHER great European night at Anfield
The passing of Bill Kenwright is sad news for the blue side of Merseyside & anyone who was lucky enough to appreciate his contribution to UK theatre but devastating for those of us in the class of 57 at Liverpool Institute who held him in high esteem. Condolences
@springmeister
This is Jamie Webster. His magnificent new album "Moments" is out today. If you haven't got it yet then what are you waiting for ?? Get online now or find a music store tomorrow !!!
Why has this guy missed out on BBC Sports Personality 2018 ?? After all he did for poor Bradley Lowery this year he deserves an award far more than any of the nominees
I still get requests in every week to either (1) play YNWA loud all the way through or (2) fade YNWA to let the crowd take over !! I can't do both but the VAST majority want it faded so I'll keep on doing my best

The name Les Chadwick may not mean anything to many of you. He went to Liverpool Institute in the McCartney & Harrison era & ended up as bassist in Gerry and the Pacemakers. So you Liverpool fans last heard him play on Thursday night. Sadly passed away on Boxing Day in Australia

Hi. The last time I was asked I took a straw poll and the majority wanted it faded. However. In the interests of fairness I played it right through one game and had the CEO telling me off. Peter Moore is no longer in charge so I will let it go next Sunday and gauge the reaction.
