Earlier this year Jan and I attended the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna together, where we selected new titles for next year and spent time with the authors, illustrators, translators and publishers, without whom Book Island wouldn't exist.

Having worked with us as a distributor for some time, Jan is already well-acquainted with our picture books and shares our passion for creating meaningful and beautiful stories. I’m confident she will continue to honour and nurture our mission.

We have some exciting news to share with you, which you may have already heard. After twelve hugely rewarding years leading Book Island, I’ve recently passed the torch to the new owner, publisher Jan Urupongsa.
