He didn’t just hate the railway as such; he hated the way it flattered people with the illusion of progress. What was the point of scientific advance without moral advance? The railway would merely permit more people to move about, meet & be stupid together. -Julian Barnes.$TWTR.

Age based income tax brackets are coming. And makes total sense: the tiniest nudge for decades of screwing the future generations. A clawback is likely coming as well.

$AAPL, net net, has done more to subvert the US for the benefit of China then it has contributed to the US. Since 2014 it just copies Android while allowing China to box out the very Western ideological forces that were the justification of WTO inclusion.

Eliminating buybacks (only dividends) and the tax free status of a myriad of investment vehicles would do wonders. $200-300B per year to treat capital returns equally (buybacks should be taxed more from first principles.).
It is lunacy for a nation sleepwalking into a debt crisis - with deficits headed towards $4 trillion in a decade, and interest set to consume 30% of all tax revenues - to declare itself awash in revenues and propose tax rebates. Economic malpractice.

Small companies are raising billions of dollars to buy bitcoin and other, more obscure cryptocurrencies. What could possibly go wrong?

Disapproval of Trump’s handling of inflation outweighs approval by 11 pts, yet GOP trusted more than Dems on it by 10 pts. Voters disapprove Trump’s handling of tariffs by 17pts, yet GOP trusted more than Dems on the issue by 7 pts.Yikes.

Republicans are seen as better at handling most issues that decide elections despite respondents’ unease with President Trump over the economy, tariffs and foreign policy.
