Notice how these twitter trolls don't actually celebrate genuine acts of Union valor? You rarely ever hear them talk about the Irish Brigade at the Sunken Road, the Iron Brigade in the Cornfield, Robert Gould Shaw's attack on Fort Wagner, or Carr's stand at Elkhorn Tavern.
They celebrate brutal things like the burning of Atlanta and Columbia. I think the actual reason for this is because they probably don't know about any of these acts of valor. They don't have any actual interest in the Civil War, but they rather just want to insult Southerners.
They know most Union soldiers wouldn't support their vitriol against Southerners, and Confederate soldiers. So, they just pick the worst acts of barbarism committed during that war, and celebrate that.

Fact is, valor is what's needed to fix our country in today's crazy world, im sure, in the end the warriors will step up at the right time and right place. Ignore the haters of history. 🇺🇲 si vis pacem para bellum♠️
it is a great scene to see the mixture of those who fought for the blue & those who fought for the gray here in Texas sitting together & worshipping the old flag & feeling a common pride in the deeds of heroism that were done in the Civil War between '61 & '64

These trolls will never celebrate or respect Union Valor for the same reason they would never celebrate or respect Southern Valor... I think in their language, valor means something else... And by the way, Happy Confederate Month...

I learned about the Irish Brigade from the song The Irish Volunteer. Then I looked into it. Lee praised their bravery. The Rebs were even cheering for them after witnessing their courage.

Have you ever seen news reel footage of the 50 year reunion at the Gettysburg battle site? Both sides hugging each other. Brings a tear to the eye.
@CleburneCSA
It’s because they have immense amounts of hatred for white people. They don’t believe in the ideals of the union, they are just anti southern because they hate white men. They don’t like acts of union valor because again, it glorifies white men.

Because Americans are not studying U.S. history to learn from it, they are picking parts of it to weaponize history to promote their political agendas. This seems to be the pattern for post-modernist historians and their historiography.
@CleburneCSA
It would be interesting to hear their opinion on burning Baghdad, Kabul or any other city they we occupied in war. Is that their military strategy or just hatred for southern folks.
@CleburneCSA
Because they are atomized and deracinated. Most of their ancestors didn't even fight in the Civil War, or the Revolutionary War.
It would also require them to do some reading, which their short attention spans are incapable of doing.
