They celebrate brutal things like the burning of Atlanta and Columbia. I think the actual reason for this is because they probably don't know about any of these acts of valor. They don't have any actual interest in the Civil War, but they rather just want to insult Southerners.

They know most Union soldiers wouldn't support their vitriol against Southerners, and Confederate soldiers. So, they just pick the worst acts of barbarism committed during that war, and celebrate that.

@CleburneCSA Because they are atomized and deracinated. Most of their ancestors didn't even fight in the Civil War, or the Revolutionary War. It would also require them to do some reading, which their short attention spans are incapable of doing.
