The phone is still ringing all day long. Folk reporting hedgehogs seen out in the day. Most casualties are just babies. And every single one is suffering from sickness caused from starvation. The callers are shocked. They think hedgehogs love slugs, which are plentiful.

Pumpkins: Halloween is one night. If you have to waste a food item (and I strongly suggest you don't), please put it out for one night, then dispose of it. Please DO NOT put it out for the wildlife. Once you've handled it, cut it, left it out in the open, unrefrigerated, it

My wife Karen has invented this genius device for removing bumble bees from the house. It’s basically a long stick with a bit of cloth on the end which she soaks in sugar water as needed. The bee will inevitably clamber on and is thus rescued/ejected into the garden.

If you see a swift like this. Pick it up, hold it up, and let it fly off. They can't take off from the ground or flat surfaces. RT this. It could save a swift.

Quick bumblebee rescue before gym - if you see one on the pavement pls do pick it up so it doesn’t get squished, and put it on an open flower where you can see the centre of the bloom. 🐝
