A few of us at Bungie had an unspoken rule about Halo cinematics: Never make the player in the cinematic feel more "badass" than the actual game. We don't want players thinking "I wish that's how the game actually felt". Cinematics should serve the gameplay, not compete w it.

The lighting really is phenomenal and the idea of them improving the texture and thematic work while maintaining that fidelity is very exciting.

With the recent attention Halo 5 is getting, some people are just now realizing the depth this game had. Love it or hate it as a Halo game, you can't argue that it wasn't exciting.
