JUST IN: Warren Buffett has laid out a plan to “step up” the pace of giving away his $149 billion estate to his children’s foundations, while still allowing for a short period that allows Berkshire Hathaway, $BRK.A, shareholders to gain confidence in incoming CEO Greg Abel. “I

MCKINSEY JUST DROPPED THEIR 2025 AI REPORT. HERE’S THE TLDR: 1/ 90% of companies “use AI,” but 67% are still stuck in pilot mode. Corporate AI theater is alive and well lol. 2/ 62% of orgs are experimenting with AI agents, 23% are scaling AI agents. Most are in tech and

I’m impressed with what Lovable + Shopify made possible here Truth: this integration let a solo founder build an app-like mattress store in a weekend. And if you actually need a new mattress, check out mattress-wizard dot com hit the DM

So no, the Shopify-Lovable combo is not “doomed.” It’s ridiculously powerful—if you treat Lovable like a co-founder, not a babysitter. You still: -Verify logic -Check variants -Curate assets Think like a product owner

The wild part: I’m not even fully aware of the “stack.” It all runs through Lovable, on top of Shopify, on an old domain I had sitting around. And today, that store is launching as a real, functioning DTC mattress experience. Not a demo. Not vaporware.

I also had to fix some images. Lovable pulled in a few incorrect and blurry photos, which is fine for an MVP but not fine when you’re selling premium mattresses. The AI will get you 80–90% there. The last 10–20%? Still your job.

Cons: Pricing logic got tricky fast. -Mattress pricing = stacked variants (size + upgrades + extras) -Dialing that in so everything matched reality took hands-on cleanup. Lovable can scaffold it—but you still have to own the details.

Pros: Going from idea → functional store insanely fast -Iterating on layout and UX without bugging a dev -Letting me focus on the buying experience instead of wrestling liquid/theme files That “this feels like a custom app” outcome? Would’ve taken weeks the old way

Mattresses aren’t “add to cart and vibe.” You’ve got: -Sizes -Firmness options -Cooling upgrades -Specialty variations Most Shopify themes melt when you ask them to handle that cleanly Lovable helped me design something that feels more like a guided app

In 3 days, Lovable helped me ship a full Shopify experience: -Custom, app-like storefront -Full mattress catalog + variants -Product pages, collections, flows Photography pulled in No traditional theme. No dev team. Just me, Lovable, Shopify, and Mattresses

I knew the @Lovable <> @Shopify integration was DOOMed for failure. Too many moving parts. Too much hype. Too “AI will build your app for you” energy. So I stress-tested it the only way that matters: I built a real store. Selling real mattresses. For real people.
