One of the most annoying features of mental health is that you think that being more introspective is the solution, like "Oh, I just need to figure out exactly WHY I'm sad" Except you don't, you usually just need to think less about yourself and avoid ruminating at all costs
Remember: Introspection is a trap! You have no particular โinteriorโ or anything, you are just how you are to the world. Obsessing over your inner life is just narcissism. Thereโs no โthereโ there. You are what you do. Thatโs all you are.

Since starting my new non-social services day job I've been doing a lot of reflecting on how it objectively makes no sense to pursue career paths in social services UNLESS you have a clear long term strategy involving an advanced degree. And even then, it's still questionable.

Psychiatry is desperately embarrassed by the lack of biomarkers for its diagnoses but it also benefits from this, too: with such arbitrary constructs, it's very easy to attribute problems psychiatry creates in patients (eg adverse drug effects) to the patient.

Tonight I'll be 7 days sober. That's the longest ive been sober for about 4 years now and I can already feel myself filling with energy, purpose, motivation and my brains starting to think coherently again. I have more desire to talk to people and Im starting to feel alive again

Ladies and gentlemen: these were the forefathers of modern psychology. These programs lasted until just a few short decades ago. This is only one example of how institutions of authority enable atrocities under the guise of "social science" and "human welfare."
Germany ran a program for decades where they deliberately paired orphans with pedophiles on the theory that someone sexually attracted to them would take better care of them.

As I write this, billions of dollars of Medicare fraud is being unveiled in California (alone). For the last year, @NAMICommunicate has been sending me email blasts urging me to donate so they can lobby congress to protect Medicare. NAMI has many chapters in California. Hmm.
