My point was more about the use of AI (carefully and with good faith) and that we shouldn't blame authors for wanting to produce figures that look very polished and nice - even if *I* firmly believe that these tools are not great. But these figures are really just awful.

OK - here's a bad take from me I just took down. I posted this without really looking at the figures and understanding that they were nonsensical. That places blame on everyone, including the authors who seemingly would have to have been acting in bad faith .1/2
