Exactly 50 years ago today I sat wide-eyed in the school hall watching the very first commercial flight of Concorde take off from Heathrow for Bahrain on the TV on a trolley. Today I have been to @BristolAero to see G-BOAF, and to reflect on half a century of aviation memories

I forgot to post this when I took it just over a week ago. I was picking up some particularly nasty waste from a site I've been to many times, but had never noticed this a couple of doors down. The site of the first @RNLI HQ. #SavingLivesAtSea

2/2 or "ham" radio clubs set up our equipment at Mills of some description, a water mill in our case but it could be a windmill, and make contact with other ham radio operators. We'll be on site from 1000 until about 1530, and the Mill is also open for people to look around.

83 years ago my Grandad joined the fight against fascism in Europe. He'd stand and clap for every single one of the Ukrainians who stand for their country were he still with us. I hope he and Natalia meet for a drink in whatever place we move onto from this life.
