I think it’s safe to say we won’t ever see another like Chapman. A truly elite thrower who consistently sits in the 98-101 mph range and performs on a yearly basis. Pitching mechanics nerds like myself will forever be thankful for what this man’s throw has taught us.

What I love most about using an Edgertronic literally every day is that you get to see the things that people do that create the pitches they want. You see a lot of repeat grips, and a lot of the same issues day to day, but you don't often see a pitch like this. @PitchingNinja

THREAD: I got in an argument with a friend the other day about the slider that Chapman threw to Altuve, and why it was hit 400+ feet. He argued that the pitch was "good" but was just thrown to a bad spot. I had a suspicion that it was not that simple, so I looked into the data.

“Intent” and effort can only help you add so much velo. Eventually it won’t matter how hard you try if you can’t get your body into the positions it needs to be in to get the desired result. If you can’t move how you need to, more effort will most likely do more harm than good.

Today, after pulling down 99.5 with a baseball, @HerbieGood told strength trainer @ian_walsh11 to throw a few off the mound. He then proceeded to throw 5 fastballs at or above 95mph, in the words of @TReklaitis “THATS A PR.”

Glad to welcome 17 year old R&D intern @erinbristow41 to the facility. She shoved for Taft HS jv baseball this past season, crushes statcast data, and just happens to have some of the best movement patterns I’ve seen thus far this summer. Take notes boys.

Keep dreaming thinking you’ll get the most out of your training at home, or anywhere else. Come out here and experience it for yourself; it’s an environment like none other.

How do you improve, regardless of talent level? Make practice harder. Enter Demosthenes, an ancient Greek orator who took a peculiar approach to improving his speech impediments. My man was doing these things in 366 BC, and uhh “skill acquisition” wasn’t a thing, he just fio’d.

You may have been domed up before, but you’ve probably never been, “feeling out hip hinging and hip rotation into foot plant in a Forever 21 during Black Friday last year” domed up. #ItNeverStops

Here is a little video I threw together of free agent @Karsen_Lindell 's pivot pick progression since joining us in early August. From an execution standpoint the first clip is a yikes from me dawg. There is almost no scap retraction, counter rotation, or positive disconnection.
