I am assistant professor of ecology at the University of Lausanne. My research focusses on biological invasions, globalization, climate change and ants.
Lausanne, Switzerland
Joined August 2013
Couldn't present this myself at #IUSSI2022 in San Diego (#becauseijusthadababy🙃). Using #ants to show that invasiveness is linked to greater commercial success in the global pet trade (paper published last year in #PNAS, https://t.co/FpF1GHayDW ) 🐜👽

The adage “A picture is worth a thousand words” is often used. When it comes to #glacier changes, it could not be more true. Judge it yourself! This repeat-photo is from #Gornergletscher near #Zermatt. More words needed?

A small number of workers with specific personality traits perform tool use in ants
elifesciences.org
The likelihood to perform tool use during foraging is linked to personality traits in ants, suggesting an original interplay between consistent inter-individual variability and division of labor in...

where have these been in every modeling paper I've ever read!?
"Avoid showing equations" I was always told. But annotations can make eqs. vastly more accessible to your audience. I've made these manually for grants (L) and talks (R) with +++ feedback. Now there's a tool for adding text annotation to LaTeX expressions—very cool!

“For many musicians, there are rock stars they look up to,” Moreau said, “but for most biologists, E.O. Wilson was our rock star.” https://t.co/XgzNG9Pr6g via @Harvard

Friends and colleagues remember E.O. Wilson as shy but down to earth, passionate about his work but generous with his time.

🎉🎉Really thrilled to share our new paper (again!) on the effects of colonialism and global economics on paleontological research! We showed that most fossil data is generated by researchers in richer countries that have a colonising history (1/n) Graphical abstract by @emmadnn
