The Logansport Berries are members of the North Central Conference and the IHSAA. Our athletic department conducts contest in 22 varsity sports. Go Berries!
I’m not sure there is anyone happier to see HS athletics than this guy. He wanted me to tell our athletes he has missed them and I assured Elmer, Berry Nation has missed him. It’s bigger than a game!

So very sorry to hear of the passing of legendary Berries Baseball coach Jim Turner Sr. this morning. Coach Turner had a large impact on so many student athletes in his over 3 decades of service at LHS. Our deepest condolences to the Turner family.
With that bucket Will Penny just scored his 1000pt. Will is the 4th Penny sibling to score at least 1000pts. as a Berry which is incredible. Congrats to Will and the entire Penny family.

Gotta give Erica White a shout-out for her 2nd place finish in the 400m. Anyone that knows track knows how hard that race is. And anyone that knows Erica knows the fight she has put up in her comeback.
Congratulations to our 2019 Don Michael award winners, Erica White and Elizabeth Smith. The perseverance these young ladies have shown is inspiring. What an honor it was to present them with this award.
Congratulations Berry Nation! Our community and friends came together and selected the Logansport Berries as the best high school nickname in the state. Thanks again
@indsportstalk
and best wishes to
@hotdogsports
this upcoming school year.

Everyone is posting pics of their Valentine dates, here is mine. 19 year veteran Anderson AD and one of the greats, Mr. Schindler. No matter the holiday, AD’s are always working. Thank you to our wives for all the support and help on the home front.

I love my staff! 72 hours ago we were asked to host the
@IHSAA1
volleyball semi-state. With great pride WE pulled it off. Very few people know what it takes to plan for an event like this and to do it in 72 hours took a ton of sacrifices from many people. Thank you! ❤️
The sun sets on another season at the Berry Bowl. What an amazing place to get the privilege to work at. The people I am surrounded by care deeply about how our school and little town are portrayed. Very proud of my team!

Out of respect to all of those involved in and affected by this weekend’s tragedy, both Lewis Cass and Logansport HS have decided it is in everyone’s best interest to postpone this evening’s swim meet.
Congratulations to Mrs. Rhonda Richey for being selected as the Crystal Berry recipient. Mrs. Richey has served LCSC in various roles for 44 years. Over the past 2 decades she has been the LHS athletic secretary. Her dedication to and love for all our Berries is felt every day.
The end of an era! Tonight marks “Trainer Tom’s” last event as the athletic trainer at LHS. Best wishes Mr. Evanich, and thank you for your 27 years of dedicated service.
A very emotional tribute for Humberto Sanchez this evening before our soccer game. Thank you to all of our alumni that returned and to Humberto’s family and friends who attended. A special thank you to Coach Turner for organizing the tribute.
Thank you to all of our 3 sport athletes for their unparalleled commitment to LHS athletics. Your understanding that you are a part of something bigger than yourselves, sets an example to everyone around you. Best wishes to our seniors. Underclassmen, you have huge shoes to fill.
We did it again Berry Nation! LHS is one of 17 schools state wide to earn the
@IHSAA1
sportsmanship award. Thank you to our athletes, coaches, and fans for understanding the importance of being a good sport and more importantly practicing what we preach. Keep it up!
Jacob Snook blew the fans away playing the National Anthem at the
@IHSAA
softball state finals. Great job Jacob and thanks you for representing LHS wonderfully, very impressive! 👏👏👏
Huge shoutout to this years 3 sport athletes! Their commitment to LHS and the Logansport community is unmatched. If you doubt that, ask any of them when was the last time they went home after school or had a Saturday off? Thank you to all 52!
You know you’re in a good place when your hosting the
@IHSAA1
GBB semi state and you walk into the concession stand and see your superintendent popping popcorn.

We are very humbled to honor fallen marine Humberto Sanchez. Thank you to Humberto’s family for attending, Maggie Fincher, Liam, Evan, and Finley Gay for performing the National Anthem and God Bless America and to Coach Dan Frye for organizing the event.

I am so proud of our coaching staff. The stresses of coaching are amplified 10x’s in this Covid era. They approach every practice, and event not knowing who will be allowed to participate. They adjust on the fly, and don’t complain. Professional coaches that deserve appreciation.
We had a wonderful time celebrating Mrs. Richey’s retirement. She served the students of LCSC for 45 years! Thanks to all who attended her send off and best wishes to Rhonda on her retirement.

So proud of our kids, coaches, and community for making sportsmanship a priority. For the 3rd year in a row we earned the IHSAA sportsmanship award. Great job Berry Nation!
I finally caught up with the Sue Jones, John Price, & Jacob Graf award winners and presented them with their scholarship checks. Thank you to our
@Berry_Boosters
leadership and members for making this possible.

As we wrap up our first week returning to athletics, let me send a special thank you to our custodial staff for their continuous hardwork and dedication to the students of LHS. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes but please know it doesn’t go unnoticed.
I can now confirm Makinsey Long is the 2018 individual singles sectional champion for tennis. Congrats Makinsey and best of luck at the regional next Saturday June 2nd.
It was great to recognize both Coach Lundy and Grayson Long tonight for their accomplishments this past fall. Coach Lundy was selected as NCC coach of the year for girls golf and Grayson was selected to the all-state football team. Congrats!
Congrats to both our boys and girls cross country teams for advancing to the regional. Special shout out to Christian Dawson for winning the 2019 sectional. 🥇🏆
Mr. Jones and I are honored to present Chloe Crook with an
@IHSAA1
sportsmanship pin for her efforts in last nights🏀game at Plymouth. Official Jimmy Arnett sent me an exemplary report on Chloe’s behavior. Thanks Chloe for representing all of us in a positive way!
With the announcement of the cancellation of in person regular session school for the remainder of the year, the IHSAA has cancelled all spring sports for 2020. This message comes with extreme sadness for all of our spring sport athletes especially our seniors. ❤️❤️❤️

We have been notified by the IHSAA that we were selected as a tournament host site for the baseball regional. This speaks to our ability to host first class tournaments and our baseball coaching staff and maintenance crews dedication to the grounds at beautiful Jim Turner field.
Always great to have our alumni stop by. Philly is playing the Pacers tonight. 76’ers assistant coach and 93 grad, Jamie Young popped in to check on us. Jamie still has that smooth baseline jumper Berries fans will remember. Best wishes to Coach Young and his family!
