Remember when the grid wouldn’t be able to handle EVs? Yeah - turns out it can. And nobody is talking about it anymore because of data centers. 1.3 million EVs sold last year. That’s about 80GWh of energy storage. And 16GW of residential load.

It’s wild how this whole industry just needed a little new demand to get innovative and muscular. We were all just fucking grinding in a drought for 15 years, gasping for drops of sustenance. Now people want our shit for the first time and it’s crazy. Let’s fucking go.
Google will buy power from what may be the first large-scale gas power plant with CCS in the US https://t.co/QlKFqk3k2g Google has previously backed enhanced geothermal, advanced nuclear and long duration storage.

you can call me crazy, but I am going to make energy transactive. call it virtual private wires, call it VPP 3.0, call it P2P energy. everything is going to have a battery in it, every battery is going to be grid interactive, and the marketplace will come alive.

Research from Duke University shows that nationwide “demand‐flexibility” programs could deliver over 100 GW of additional capacity by 2030, roughly equivalent to 30,000 utility scale wind turbines. Jigar Shah says this approach is one of the few tools that can be deployed at

With AI datacenters soaring power bills for households, a policy called ‘demand flexibility’ could help ease grid strain
