Bacardí has relaunched its Patrón XO Cafe coffee-infused tequila liqueur in the UK after a three-year hiatus. The cult tipple was discontinued in 2021 after agave shortages forced Bacardí to focus on core Patrón variants, but made its US return in April.

Spirits prices in grocery have gone up by more than £1/l in the last year. New duty rules on wine from Feb will add additional complexity and costs. Many already can't afford a drink in the pub, and now supermarket booze is going to get even more expensive. #Budget2024.

RT @silvesterldn: A 6% hike in the minimum wage may have more of an impact on the price of your pint than a 1p cut in beer duty.

A penny per pint cut in draught duty is likely to be scant consolation for small brewers already up against the wall, as wine and spirits producers who will see their duty rates increase in line with inflation from April. #Budget2024.

Some great insight in this feature from @WoolfsonExists on how "big beer" has muscled in on Britain's craft beer revolution. Fascinated (but not unsurprised) to learn the no. of brewers sold in UK supermarkets has dipped by 17% in the last four years.

Grolsch has become the latest beer to see its abv shrunk to 3.4%. Means the brew will be a full 1.6% abv weaker in the UK than its continental counterpart, saving Asahi UK approximately 23p in duty on every can sold. Via @TheGrocer.
