He didn’t show any leadership qualities for the first 90% of the story, but the way Merry stepped up to lead the hobbit forces during the scouring of the shire is one of my favorite character developments in all 3 books.

Guys I figured out how to make the upside down text hat trend actually worthwhile.

I just spent almost an hour sound designing about 6 minutes of audio for this week’s release… When you realize what scene it is you’ll know why.

Some of my favorite nights working on BTMC are “research nights” Where I have read the story, and I chase down the answers to all the questions I have after finishing the book Just hour after hour of diving down as many rabbit holes as I can find I love it so much

If you haven’t yet, go listen to “The Labors of Hercules” on the pod. It’s dripping with larger symbolism
“In myths, words mean little, symbolic characters and actions everything” -Robert McKee This is why it doesn’t matter too much that myths rarely have a single, concrete source of “truth” The value is not in the dialogue. It’s in the larger symbolism.

This podcast is fucking incredible. Jameson’s retelling of the Lord of The Rings is, in my opinion, the best way to consume the story if you haven’t been able to make the time to actually read the books. The soundtrack, the voices, the structure and perspective he brings.
I was so excited to launch it I forgot to tweet about it. imo its the best episode yet Spotify: https://t.co/nLPJrwMFyG Apple:

🚨🚨NEW DROP🚨🚨 This story is nothing like the Disney movie. It’s a Greek tragedy, it’s raw, and it asks the question “what does ‘redemption’ even mean?” Available now wherever you listen Spotify: https://t.co/6bQxrj5PQJ Apple: https://t.co/zJC0Y1qUz6

Loving @Jameson_Olsen Becoming the Main Character podcast. The LOTR trilogy episodes are part retelling, part commentary, part synopsis. It’s like an audiobook and podcast had a baby: a “podio book.” Engaging storytelling and sharp literary analysis.

@BecomingMain is a storytelling podcast that is a practical application of Protagonism. But now I’ve got a newsletter that focuses exclusively on exploring the rules behind this ideology. Go be one of the first subs! Link below.
