Saving our land through conservation means literally saving the world.
I post twice, but "Without diverse species of birds, reptiles, mammals, and the lands they inhabit, humanity stands to lose ecosystems that regulate our climate, give us a buffer to prevent pandemics, provide vital natural resources, and keep our air and water clean."

This great interview with @ayanaeliza and @DrKWilkinson reminds us that women have been on the leading edge of climate science and the climate movement from the very beginning. We're looking forward to getting our copy of All We Can Save when it comes out this month!
In their upcoming book, “All We Can Save,” activists @ayanaeliza and @DrKWilkinson compile essays, poetry and other works by women to argue that “the climate crisis is not gender neutral.” We speak to the authors about the anthology. https://t.co/ZwaUa4F5cO

To figure out what makes meat so meaty, Dr. Brown used mass spectrometry to decompose beef burgers, and discovered the root was a molecule called heme. To recreate the flavor, he and his team genetically engineered yeast cells to produce a plant-based version of heme. (3/5)

If you've tried a burger from @ImpossibleFoods or @BeyondMeat, you know these plant-based substitutes taste a lot like the real thing. But what you may not know is why. What makes it all possible (sorry!) is chemistry. (1/5)
