Work with me! I'm hiring TWO postdocs to do (mostly) quantitive research on the harms of policing and safety beyond policing all with a focus on racism and inequality. Good pay and remote work with time to pursue your own research interests.

Segregation doubled the odds of some Black children dying in U.S. cities 100 years ago. New research by @BeahboutIT and @jdavidhacker612 shows structural racism in the 1900s harmed Black health in ways still being felt today. Me for @NewsfromScience

We started this paper 4(!) years ago and I asked every MPC/LCC seminar speaker I could for feedback and comments. Still in awe of how generous people were willing to be with their time. And of course huge thanks to @jdavidhacker612 who has really championed this work!

This work is #poweredbyIPUMS and would not have been possible without an enormous amount of support from @minnpop's Population Studies training program. I'm incredibly proud of this work and so happy to see it out in the world!

In our new historical demography paper, @jdavidhacker612 and I examine the impact of racial residential segregation on child mortality using the 1900&1910 census. We show that even prior to the creation of Jim Crows, and HOLC maps, structural racism has impacted health. @minnpop
