Very happy to announce that our paper describing mutational signature dynamics in SARS-CoV-2 is out @PLOSCompBiol! Using the huge number of available sequences, we uncover a shifting landscape of mutational signatures operating throughout the pandemic! https://t.co/Fp6h6MvmKq

Spatial modelling with Rita Ribeiro and @JMatthiopoulos found that most vampire bat roosts in the rabies endemic Peruvian Andes remain undiscovered. This may explain the limited ability of bat population control to reduce spillover https://t.co/863qC2t5KO @CVRinfo @UofG_SBOHVM

In our quest for new vampire 🦇roosts, we travelled 300km to another department called Ica; with some intensive asking-around at different government institutions, 4 days later, we finally found a new vampire bat roost, next to the sea with many pinnipeds around🤩🌊🦭THANK U team

The @BatsGoViral team study transmission of #rabies virus in wild vampire bats to inform interventions – but how do they do this? The team are working with the Glasgow Science Centre (@gsc1) to develop an interactive exhibit to take visitors behind the scenes of bat research.
