Hello, friends. None of us know what will happen with Twitter. In case you want to keep up with what I'm up to should this all end, I've set up a Substack.
Not quite sure how I'll use it tbh but I'm sharing the link now so you can subscribe for updates:
Taki! That was the 750th goal of the Klopp era. The top 10 scorers:
Salah 152
Mané 110
Firmino 95
Origi 40
Coutinho 37
Jota 30
Milner and Sturridge 25
Wijnaldum 22
Oxlade-Chamberlain 17
"We got complacent, took time on the ball like it was a stroll."
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says his side only have themselves to blame after losing the Heads Up FA Cup final to Arsenal.
More:
If Henderson and Kabak had lasted beyond half time, they’d have recorded the longest continuous streak for a Liverpool CB partnership this season.
As it is, the record remains 2.5 matches (Phillips and Henderson).
Partnership
#18
for the season is up and running.
Exclusive: Liverpool have submitted an offer of £10 million to Norwich City for left-back Jamal Lewis. They have also offered them a substantial sell-on clause. Full details in

Champions League knockout phase top scorers from 2017/18 onwards (excluding pens):
12 - Sadio Mané
10 - Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah
9 - Cristiano Ronaldo
8 - Roberto Firmino
The wait is over.
For the first time since Sadio Mané in 2015, an opposing player has been sent off against Liverpool in the league for two yellow cards.
Nat Phillips and Ozan Kabak have now played the third most minutes by any Liverpool CB partnership this season.
They've kept three clean sheets out of three in their full matches, and the only goal they've conceded was a penalty.
Newcastle had two players who committed four fouls without being booked today (Guimaraes, Joelinton).
Liverpool had one…
…in the entirety of last season (Díaz at Leicester).
There’s an article in The Guardian today about Qatar being awarded the 2022 World Cup in 2010. Includes a ‘Then and Now’ section for the people present, this might be my favourite entry.
You think you’ve seen it all in 2020 but then Garth Crooks describes the scary moments Joël Matip had during a game he didn’t play in. No context, indeed.

9/9 European knock-out ties negotiated by Klopp at Liverpool.
Ten minutes of Holt highlights and it’s missing at least 10 of my favourites.
Heartbroken at the news of Andre Braugher’s death. Rest in peace, Captain.
Total goals scored by Firmino, Mané and Salah after 11 games of the season (in all comps):
2017/18: 13 in 2,225 total minutes played

2019/20: 13 in 2,450 mins
2020/21: 12 in 2,047 mins
2021/22: 22 in 1,923 mins
Front three on fire.
Tonight was Klopp’s 50th one goal win in the Premier League.
26 x 2-1
16 x 1-0
4 x 4-3
3 x 3-2
1 x 5-4
Firmino has scored the decisive goal in 10 of them - more than anyone else.
That was Liverpool’s 100th goal of the season.
30 Salah
15 Núñez
12 Firmino
6 Gakpo, Jota
5 Díaz, Elliott
4 Alexander-Arnold
3 Carvalho, Jones, van Dijk
2 Matip
1 Bajcetic, Oxlade-Chamberlain
And four own goals
Seen a few asking why Liverpool would sell a 29-year-old and buy a 30-year-old.
Endo has about 22k club minutes, Fabinho 37k.
It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage.
Martin Tyler is a disgrace.
On Radio4 this morning he described the start of the Premier League as a time when football was in a crisis, “we weren’t that long after Hillsborough and other hooligan related issues”.
Was going to share the clip but he’s not worth it. Prick

Most Champions League goals in the knockout stage over the last two seasons (excluding penalties):
10 - Sadio Mané
8 - Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo
6 - Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah
5 - Edin Dzeko, Son Heung-Min
Caoimhin Kelleher saved 2.95 xG on target to keep a clean sheet today - a GK has only done this four times in Europe's big five leagues in the last seven seasons 👏
Via:
Interesting from the Guardian: "Chelsea have had 20 shots on target and scored six goals in the Premier League this calendar year; Liverpool have had 19 shots on target and scored nine goals this week."
Top of the injuries table at present? Ouch.
Bottom of the VAR overturns table? Ugh.
Top of the table for errors leading to goals? Aha.
Combine the three, and here we are. Enjoy your weekend.
Liverpool will now face four successive fixtures in four different competitions:
27th Feb - Carabao Cup final vs Chelsea
2nd Mar - FA Cup vs Norwich
5th - Premier League vs West Ham
8th - Champions League vs Inter
All at Anfield/Anfield South…
It is pretty mad that Sadio Mané played for Liverpool for long enough to become their 14th top scorer of all time, left over a year ago and is still the last opponent sent off against them for two yellows in the Premier League.
BTW, something I mention is that it's now THREE-HUNDRED-AND-ONE PL games since a player got a second yellow against Liverpool. (
@BassTunedToRed
spotted it a while ago and someone on TTT totted up the games; was Oct 2015, Mané for Soton.) All other clubs have 5-15 in that time! 🤷♂️
.
@LFC
now have 69 points with just 10

matches remaining.
Each of the previous 7 sides to amass such a tally at this stage have gone on to win the title 👍
Liverpool finish the season with the joint-4th best goals against record in the PL.
After game 9 (Spurs away) they were the sixth worst.
For the 29 games since, they've been the best.
