I’m not sure he understands what “lodged” means. That’s the real issue here. Once the ball stops moving it’s “lodged”. It doesn’t have to be harder than Excalibur to remove, just stop moving or become stuck.
The fact this is ruled a “lodged ball” but then the CF has no problem picking it up and throwing it in is dumb. He didn’t even make an effort to grab it right away. Blue Jays might have gotten screwed
