A gecko, a songbird and a minnow joined the short list of recovered American endangered species this year. We have more work to do to save our species but excited to highlight these conservation triumphs.

On the fifth day of #PhotoArk, we’re counting fluffy four-day-old mallard ducklings. It takes about 10 hours after hatching for mallard ducklings to get used to using their legs, and then they make the journey to the water with their mother to learn how to feed. 📷: @joelsartore

Mountains are iconic and sacred places around the world but their critical role is not well understood. Read about our new research in @Nature that will help decision-makers prioritize actions needed to help protect these water-supplying systems and the people who depend on them.

Thank you @ATREE_org for this wonderful opportunity. It was a true honor to be invited to speak about the role of science communications. Often, the key to inspiring change and safeguarding biodiversity is when we combine science with new and compelling narratives for nature.

Mesmerizing example of crypsis.
Look closely as this master of camouflage finds its hiding spot. Explorer @imkristenbrown saw this incredible moment while on a dive to study species interactions and the recovery of the Great Barrier Reef after mass coral bleaching.
