Also, the notion that Sabbath wouldn't exist without a song that came out in '69 is obvious nonsense. As if Sabbath learned their instruments and honed their sound in just a few months. Their self titled album came out in '70!.

Beatles fans can be weirdly myopic. Heavy blues were not invented in 1969 and certainly not by The Beatles. Hendrix had already released all three of his studio albums by then!.

@Bagodictionary @celinedionysus_ Because they were an incredibly diverse band, exploring a ton of genres, they weren't a 'psychedelic pop band' they had a psych period of 2 albums, whole subgenres of rock spawned from single beatles songs, you wouldn't have sabbath without 'i want you shes so heavy'.

In all seriousness, can someone explain to me why being a fascist is unacceptable, but openly being a communist is perfectly fine?.

@Bagodictionary ridiculous take. play some old blues on guitar, then play some sabbath. see how they compare (re: chord progressions, specifically dominant chords).then play some beatles and some supremes, and see how they compare.

Imagine thinking Sabbath were more influenced by the beatles than the blues.

For example the scene where the incel kid, posturing as a BLM activist, explains antiwhiteness to his confounded parents. The joke is not that antiracism is stupid, it's that this kid and his parents might as well be completely different species.

I think EDDINGTON is bound to be misunderstood because it's really not about agreeing or disagreeing with the perspectives it presents and ridicules. It's more about articulating this background noise of insanity we all just live with now.

I mean the experience of reading all the takes and incurring psychic damage, is what's bad. I liked the movie.

Absolutely crazy how little Emma Stone and Austin Butler are in Eddington. Felt like they came to visit the set one day and so Ari Aster decided to use them.

In The Bear Season 4 they're talking about getting waitstaff to work for free while sappy inspirational music plays, and I gotta say the Ted Lassofication of this show is complete.

Folks, the purpose of awards like the Emmys is not for the shows you enjoy to receive recognition. The shows you like are actually good, and will therefore likely be ignored by these dumb and bad awards ceremonies.

The vast majority of work in any medium is trash. For every film or album that's worthwhile, there are a hundred more that are rightfully forgotten.

@Bagodictionary he didn’t say ā€œnot worth listening to,ā€ he said ā€œtrash.ā€ i’m sorry but any self-proclaimed music lover that thinks the vast majority of albums are trash should really just be laughed at.

Maybe the scariest part about The Ring is that it *does* show you the cursed video. And then you see, like, a ladder and can't help but wonder. .
