Actually, this is how most of my matches end these days. It's better than ghosting, and isn't as draining on the old will to live. And it's easy to spot when they're just maintaining the conversation to be polite.

I've taken various precautions in the past, including asking my dates to send a photo of me and my car registration to a friend, sending updates on locations to a friend, and I even brought my DBS certificate to a date once.
