Retrospective diagnosis in an entirely flawed method of ancient history - one where we have to trust our literary sources to accurately give us relevant, medical symptoms, which is rarely what they were trying to do. Without the body, this is all fantasy. #BadAncient

So pleased to publish this article from a great new contributor. Check it out! https://t.co/7q4hd8Ziu4

Wrapped within his mummified remains, a dagger has intrigued archaeologists for over a century. What was it made of, who made it, and why bury it with him?
Really happy to have been asked to contribute to @BadAncient by answering the question: Did King Tutankhamun own a dagger made from a meteorite? If so, who made it, where did it come from, and why was it buried with him? Read my article and find out more:

We miss one Easter weekend and this nonsense spreads like wildfire! Ishtar has no link, at all, to Easter. The more you know about Ishtar, or indeed Easter, the more this becomes obvious #BadAncient: https://t.co/8u1i60XGSt

Are the Easter celebrations somehow based on the ancient worship of the goddess Ishtar?
HAPPY EASTER???? Have you been LIED too???? Think TWISE before saying ‘Happy Easter’ this RESURRECTION Sunday!!! Ishtar: pronounced ‘Easter’ ‘Easter’ was originally the celebration of the god Ishtar, the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility, animal sacrifices,

🚨New #BadAncient article🚨all about the Spartan Krypteia. Our thanks to Prof Stephen Hodkinson (@UoNClassics @UoNArch) for his support when we were writing this article! 'Was the Krypteia Sparta's Secret Police?' https://t.co/mGEmjMYJeL
badancient.com
The Krypteia is often presented as a secret police force in Sparta, which went around hunting enslaved helots to maintain order. But how reliable is the evidence to back this up?

https://t.co/9km1xJFJqT Pretty big news, yes, but to clarify, this is NOT "the first pharaoh's tomb discovered in Egypt since Tutankhamun's." It is, though, the first such royal tomb to be discovered in the vicinity of the Valley of the Kings since Carter discovered Tut’s tomb.
bbc.com
It is the first time a pharoah's tomb has been found by a British-led team since Tutankhamun's in 1922.

It is a fan-made poster from Reddit. Just someone having fun and getting excited about the new film coming out. The person is also getting corrected about the misused Greek alphabet in the forum. 5/5

We saw a lot of people reposting this image, which looks like a poorly thought through advert for the new film version of the Odyssey. But, as has since become apparent, it was not an authentic film poster, so let's do a quick thread on how to check. 1/5

This is not a Roman military salute. Leave ancient history out of this! #BadAncient
I hate to disappoint Musk's new friends in Germany, but I'm afraid this is a historically accurate Roman military salute!
